lab work (SD): 

            Extracted DNA from gel fragments (~600 bp) for K102002 and K102008 digested with EcoRI + PstI.
            Ligated K102002 into pSB4A5 and K102008 into pSB4A5 (using pSB4A5 as a negative control).
            Transformed XL1-B cells with these ligations.
