Prey-Killer system test. GFP intensity of prey strains was measured over 12 h at 37 °C. Prey cells were killed for prey-killer ratios from 1:1 up to 25:1 (blue, green, red, light blue) due to the colicin production of the killer strain. This production was activated by the AHL secreted by the prey strain. In a reference experiment prey-cells were able to grow (violet line).
