Why can't E.coli metabolize hot dogs? I'm afraid they just can't "digest" them

• PCR clean-up (quenches digests) on our digests from yesterday
• Attempted two ligations: pCLOCK1,nifA (NdeI/SpeI) and BBa R0010 (lacI inducible lac promoter), nifA (R0010 with SpeI, nifA with XbaI/SpeI); transformed onto Ampicillin plates
• Ran analytical gels on the digests too - all lengths matched up, except for our midi-prep of pCLOCK2; something messed up there, as the ladder in the lane next door didn't work either; need to re-check pCLOCK2
