Possible modeling applications could be utilized in order to determine concentrations and energies of mixing. Other modeling tools could visually map the regulatory pathway of gene regulation in these modified prokaryotes.

Part B illustrates the diauxic growth response to methanol and ethanol in which methanol (closed inverted triangles) is not consumed until ethanol (closed squares) is consumed.
