Hi, my name is Daniele. I am a 3rd year graduate student at UCSF in the lab of Geeta Narlikar. I am from Italy and moved to San Francisco about 3 years ago. My research focuses on the study of the heterochromatin protein 1 (HP1/Swi6). Our ultimate goal is to understand how Swi6 specifically recognize methylated nucleosome arrays and whether it confers structural changes to the underling chromatin upon binding. It has been a great experience for me to be part of the iGEM team this year.
