Welcome to Prairie View A&M University's 2008 iGEM wiki page.

The Prairie View team consists of five students and two advisors. We are excited about
competing in the iGEM competition. This year we will design and build an engineering
system using DNA to make biology as predictable as engineering. This project will help
us to develop new ideas as well as become expertise in our learning fields. We thank
all of those who have committed their time and donations to this breakthrough technology.

About PVAMU:

Founded in 1876, Prairie View A&M University is the second oldest public institution of higher learning
in the state of Texas. With an established reputation for producing engineers, nurses and educators,
PVAMU offers baccalaureate degrees in 50 academic majors, 37 master’s degrees and four doctoral degree
programs through nine colleges and schools. A member of the Texas A&M University System, the University
is dedicated to fulfilling its land-grant mission of achieving excellence in teaching, research and service.
During the university’s 132-year history, more than 51,500 academic degrees have been awarded.
