            Some yellow color developed overnight so 50 ul of Na2CO3 was added to stop the reaction. The A550 
            and A420 readings were taken.  Miller units were calculated using the formula
                   Miller Units = 1000 x [(A420 - 1.75 x A550] / (T x V x 4 x A600)
                where A420 is detection of yellow
                      A550 is detection of cell debris
                      T = time of reaction in minutes
                      V = volume of culture used in the assay in mLs
                      A600 is detection of cell density
