Experiment to test the function of old and new Lac promoters
Each of the promoters is used to drive expression of GFP so that fluorescence can be used to measure promoter function. The data demonstrate that the new Lac promoters have improved function over the existing wild type promoter in the Registry.

XOR gate construct [http://partsregistry.org/wiki/index.php?title=Part:BBa_K091173 K091173] coplated with the K09100 Lux receiver. Green fluorescence indicates that at least one of the two hybrid promoters in the XOR construct is driving expression of the LuxI gene.
