My name is Joleen Su, and I'm a sophomore at UIUC. I'm a pre-med bioengineering major with a chemistry minor. I work at the Institute of Genomic Biology under Dr. William Metcalf. The theme I work with is Mining Microbial Genomes for Novel Antibiotics, where I research Streptomyces colonies in hopes of identifying new, medically relevant metabolites for stronger antibiotics.
In my spare time I like to play the flute and the piano in addition to listening to music.
