Inverter

Inverter BioBrick.jpg

The input signal for the inverter is filtered by using the T7 RNA polymerase promoter BBa_I712074 and RiboLock3d BBa_J23032. The inverter's output signal is the LuxI protein, encoded by BBa_C0061. (verwijzing)

First, LacI (BBa_C0012) is produced. This part contains a C-terminal LVA tag for faster degradation. LacI is the inhibitor of BBa_R0011. This explains the inverting function of this device. When no (or not enough, because of the filter (link) signal is present, the LacI repressor will not be made and the inverter will produce LuxI. When there is a (filtered) input signal, the LacI repressor will inhibit LuxI production.
