Welcome to the 2008 University of Calgary Software Team

We are the team known as the EvoGents. Consisting of five members, our team developed a software program, EvoGEM. This program not only models the processes within the cell, but it also optimizes BioBrick circuits. While the team from last year presented EvoGEM at the 2007 Jamboree, we have developed EvoGEM into a more sophisticated system, both in terms of data retrieval and modeling. Moreover, we developed a user interface that makes the software easy-to-use and, thus, accessible to a large segment of the population. We believe that EvoGEM will be part of the future of synthetic biology.
