  • Jess re-did miniprep/digestion of LacZ and SOS (as before)
  • Jess ran on ethidium bromide gel yesterday (pictures in notebook)
  • Got a LacZ fragment band at 5000 bp (yay!--is the length of part + most of plasmid)
  • LacZ fragments are stored for later purification
  • Got an SOS fragment at 2000 bp (boo!--is the length of the plasmid minus the part)
    • The part ran off the gel b/c is only 192 bp long
  • PLAN: redo SOS miniprep, etc. but run shorter gel so can get the SOS part before it runs off
