CONTINUES FROM THE SEPTEMBER 8 ENTRY

New antibiotic calculus

Ampicilin

  • Stock 100mg/ml
  • Lethal concentration 512µg/ml
  • 5.12µl from the stock have to be added to the media.

Tetracycline

  • Stock 5mg/ml
  • Lethal concentration 7.5µg/ml
  • 1.5µl from the stock have to be added to the media.


  1. 4µl of each overnight culture was taken with 5ml of LB. Incubation 3hrs at 37°C at 150rpm. Three controls were made and three with Tet. Each control corresponds to one strain.
  2. After 3 hours 7.5µl of the Tet stock were added to kill the bacteria population that should be in the exponential phase.
