I am a UCSF graduate joint student in Hana El-Samad and Jonathan Weissman's labs, my research focuses on variability in protein expression (noise) within a population. In addition, previous work on spectroscopy has endowed me with an interest in instrumentation, imaging, and system design. These interests have led me to IGEM and systems biology, which nicely align the problems of biology with the rigor and quantitative focus of the physical sciences.
