The building hosts research groups of the BIOQUANT (Quantitative Analysis of Molecular and Cellular Biological Systems) network and is situated on the campus of the university of Heidelberg.

| The German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) [1] has just recently been rated by an international panel as one of the leading cancer research institutes. This strong reputation was recently confirmed by the award of the Medicine Nobel Prize to Professor zur Hausen, who has discovered the Papilloma virus as agent for cervical cancer.
