1400: Journal Club 2a, Erika presents modular AND gate paper (2b to be presented on Monday)

1524: James nearly has a nervous breakdown over integration vectors

Debriefing

Groups have continued to work on individual tasks.

B.subtilis:

• Group has been working on promoters, terminators and RBS. Found an inducible promoter that takes xylose as an input. The Pspac promoter, which is an IPTG inducible promoter, required expression of λRNAP and so we will not be using this promoter.
• Need to find all vectors we may use to put on the GM forms.

Modelling:

• Group has looked into the existing knowledge of cell motility in B.subtilis and have looked into the existing models. Group will present to the other team tomorrow with their findings.

Integration:

• Still researching the key features required for efficient integration

• Group has decided to give a summary presentation on what has been achieved so far, and what we still have left to do.
